I have a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. I’ve been writing poetry, prose, fiction, and a little nonfiction for over twenty years (boy is my hand tired!). I was once named Barnes and Nobles’ Poet of the Month, I’ve had poems published here and there, and I’ve spent hundreds of hours reading my creations into a microphone in front of local, weekly crowds of like-minded sages.

I have recently arrived at a comfortable stopping point in the revision process of my first novel, after three plus years hacking out a path (I think, I hope) between sentiment and sterility. I have mailed my first few queries.

But I am a poet first. And I have tried, over the years, to create that which might open a new door or shed a different light on what is otherwise commonplace. This venture into ‘nonfiction articles’ is a challenge for me. But all writers, I suppose, try to open doors, whether they’re writing about basket weaving or the mythology in disparate cultures.
